Francis E. Walter Dam, Lake Harmony, Lunch, and Ice Cream Drive
This Miata and Mini Cooper excursion has us leaving the Lehigh Valley and traveling our beloved curvy and twisties into the Pocono Region. We travel Route 534 through ten miles of Hickory Run State Park. After our rest stop, we continue to the Francis E. Walter Dam. Looking South from the Dam head one can view the beginning of the Lehigh Gorge State Park which travels South into the Leheighton area eighteen miles away. We continue with a quaint Drive around Lake Harmony at the Split Rock Lodge in Luzerne County. We will be enjoying Lunch in the Saylorsburg / Snydersvlle area. Following lunch, we continue traveling South on Mini Cooper and Miata roads, traveling over Blue Mountain and enjoying Ice Cream at the Blue Mountain Drive-In, where the ride concludes.
Our first leg of travel has us driving 60 miles in approximately 2 hours. Our second leg of travel is 52 miles and traveling approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Our third and final leg of travel is 21 miles in length and approximately 45 minutes of travel time.
